Every Instrument should have its own voice. The science behind a playable guitar is only half of the picture.
It is the art of the discovering the voice that makes the instrument a joy to play.
My Background
I have been playing guitar for over thirty five years now, and own and have owned, a variety of guitars, always searching for the one that gives me the sound and playability that marks the truly well-crafted instrument. Although there are many guitars out there that are functional and beautiful, I have never been satisfied with the (If you will!!) over-the-counter mass produced instruments that are available today. I have spent many a long evening and no little amount of money, trying to customize one of these to suit my individual needs and desires, and finally came to the conclusion that it would be much more satisfying to build it from the ground up instead of trying to "fix" one already made. So Gem Tone Guitars was born!
I have tried to incorporate the desire to have a beautiful-to-look-at instrument, with the need to have one that is a delight to play and hear. The use of traditional as well as non-traditional materials and building techniques is vital to this effort. I want to create a work of art, not only visually, but also to the ear. I want the player to not only love the way the guitar looks but also the sound and tone that it produces. I want the listening audience to see the beauty of a hand crafted instrument and hear the rich tones in the hands of the artist.
My Commitment
The beauty, playability, and musicality of each Gem Tone instrument is an expression of my love of guitars and music.
I hope you will make a Gem Tone Guitar the choice for your voice.
